The Brick House Classic Churchill is a premium, medium-to-full-bodied cigar with a rich history. Originally launched as a Cuban puro, it was re-imagined by J.C. Newman Cigar Co. using specially aged Nicaraguan tobaccos to deliver a complex and flavorful smoke at an exceptional value. The Churchill vitola, measuring 7 1/4 inches with a 50 ring gauge, offers a long and satisfying smoking experience, typically lasting over an hour.
Wrapper, Binder, and Filler:
  • Wrapper: This cigar is finished with a rustic, reddish-brown Ecuadorian Havana Subido wrapper. The leaf is described as having a slightly toothy and sandy feel.
  • Binder: The binder is Nicaraguan.
  • Filler: The filler is a robust blend of Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos, hand-rolled by master artisans in the PENSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
Flavor Profile and Evolution:
The Brick House Churchill is known for a balanced and evolving flavor profile.
  • First Third: The smoke begins with a gentle spice, often a hint of white pepper, followed by notes of toasted cedar and earthy flavors.
  • Second Third: As the cigar progresses, the flavors build in complexity. Creamy notes of coffee, nuts, and leather become more prominent, along with a touch of cocoa, cinnamon, and a sweet, caramel-like aroma.
  • Final Third: The last section brings a richer, more robust experience. Notes of espresso, earth, and a bit more pepper come to the forefront, providing a full and satisfying finish.
Construction and Experience:
  • Draw: The cigar typically offers a smooth and consistent draw, producing a generous amount of creamy, rich smoke.
  • Burn: Known for solid construction, the Brick House maintains a fairly even burn, though some reviewers note it can be slightly wavy at times.
  • Overall Experience: This cigar is celebrated for its remarkable quality and flavor profile, which often punches above its weight class in terms of price. It is an excellent choice for a long and relaxing smoke, suitable for both beginners and experienced enthusiasts.
Pairing Recommendations:
The medium-to-full-bodied profile and balanced flavors make it a versatile cigar for pairing. Good options include a cappuccino, medium-bodied beer, barrel-aged rum, or a spiced bourbon.
