The HYDRA-LG Electronic Humidifier is a commercial-grade humidification system designed for large cabinet humidors up to 16 cubic feet. It is manufactured by Quality Importers and automatically regulates humidity to maintain ideal conditions for storing cigars. It is particularly suitable for collections of 1,000 to 5,000 cigars.
Features and specifications
  • Capacity: Up to 16 cubic feet (around 0.50 cubic meters), which can hold up to 2,500 cigars, according to Bestcigars.bg. Other retailers suggest a range from 1,000 to 5,000 cigars.
  • Technology: Features HygroSet adjustable technology for automatically regulating humidity.
  • Monitoring: A large LED display provides humidity readings every 30 seconds.
  • Remote control: A handheld remote unit on a 54-inch wire controls basic functions and reports temperature and humidity, allowing for adjustments without opening the humidor.
  • Airflow: Equipped with two internal fans for consistent moisture distribution. It also has two external fan ports for connecting additional fans.
  • Water cartridge: Features a large-capacity foam-filled cartridge that requires refilling with distilled water only.
  • Alerts: Provides both audible and visual alerts when the water level is low. The audible alert can be toggled on or off.
  • Dimensions: Approximately 11" L x 4.25" W x 4.75" H.
  • Power: Operates using a corded AC adapter.
Setup and maintenance
  • Setup: The user must fill the foam water cartridge with distilled water, plug the unit into a power source, and set the desired humidity level.
  • Refilling: The large water cartridge means less frequent refilling. The low water indicator will notify the user when it is time to add more distilled water. The foam inside the water cartridge should be replaced periodically.
  • Cleaning: To prevent mold and bacteria, the unit should be cleaned regularly. The manufacturer's instructions should be followed, but a common method involves using vinegar and scrubbing mineral deposits.
